A 13-year-old girl in India has alleged that she was raped for two years by father, brother and uncle.
New Delhi, Nov 29 / NationalTurk – In a shocking incident, a 13-year-old- girl from Indian state of Kerala has accused his father, 15-year-old brother and uncle of raping her for two years.
According to media reporters, a 13-year-old class 8 girl student in Kerala’s Kannur refused to go home after school and cried last week. “The girl told the teachers that she was raped over the last two years by her father, her 15-year-old brother and her uncle”.
The teachers called the police and they lodged a case.
On the complaint of the girl, her father and uncle were arrested while her 15-year-old brother was sent to a juvenile home. The girl is now housed at a home run by the Child Welfare committee where she will be counselled.
According to media reports, girl had alleged that her elder sister committed suicide two years back after she too witnessed the same brutality.
Police have started investigations to find out if she (girl’s sister) too was abused by the men of the house.
‘It is shocking case’
KC Rosakutty, who heads the Kerala Women’s Commission said, “This is a shocking case of two minor sisters being raped by family members. The police say the elder sister committed suicide. But this needs to be probed as no proper inquiry was done”.
Local Congress activist, Suma Balakrishnan said they have approached State’s Home Minister and sought a thorough probe into the earlier death as well and the arrest of all those involved in the two crimes.
The incident has left the people of the area and country shell shocked.

This is really shameful. We can learn that sexual harassment can be committed by parents & siblings against innocent children regardless of the incenst taboos. Guys please watch out to protect societal members who are at risk. Much of the responsibility lies in the roles teachers can play for early detection of such cases as they are too close to students on daily basis.
