Twenty-six Turkish soldiers martyrized last night in the biggest terrorist attack in years from terrorists of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)in Hakkari province Cukurca in Southeast Turkey. Around 20 more are wounded.

The clashes betweeen Kurdish terrorist from PKK and Turkish soldiers started around 1 a.m. last night and lasted through the early hours of the morning. The PKK terrorists were reported to have hit eight targets simultaneously in Hakkari province. The group of terrorist were reported to support their attack with long barreled weapons and rocket launchers.

26 dead soldiers is the biggest single death toll for Turkish Army in years. Most of the military targets were known to be units near the border posts. The clashes are reported to still continue in the area. Turkish Army has launched an immediate offensive in Northern Iraq in hot pursuit of the escaped terrorists.

Chief of Staff Gen. Necdet Özel, and the commenders of the Land Forces, Air Forces flew to the area immediately. Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan cancelled a planned visit to Kazakhstan after the Pkk terror organization ‘s attacks, while Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu also cancelled his planned visit to Serbia.

Turkish President Abdullah Gül : ‘ Our revenge will be terrible ‘

Turkish President Abdullah Gül declared that  Turkey’s revenge will be immense and radical. Gül stated in televised remarks ‘If their calculation is that they are making political gains with terrorist attacks, they’re making a historic mistake. Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul vowed then to fight back without compromise and fight to very end.’

The attacks has followed the events from Tuesday, when five policemen and three civilians, including a 2-year-old girl, were killed in a roadside bomb attack planted by suspected Kurdish militants in nearby Bitlis province, another SE province in Turkey.
