Breaking News – ERZINCAN – An explosion at a Turkish railway line resulted in eight wagons overturning in Erzincan, Turkey

The explosion which occurred in the morning hours as a cargo/passenger train carrying vehicles passed by is thought to have been a result of a mine placed by terrorists on the railway connecting the Turkish cities of Erzincan and Divrigi.

Eight freight wagons overturned as a result of the explosion but no injuries or dead were reported.

None of the wagons carrying passengers overturned said one security official which is why there have been no reported casualties.

The Turkish Rail (TCDD) Head Office confirmed in a statement that eight wagons carrying cargo had derailed as a result of a mine explosion placed by terrorists.

The TCDD confirmed that there were no dead or injuries as a result of the attack.

An investigation has been started and the perpetrators are being searched for.
