Video Highlights – After a disappointing opening game against Liverpool when Arsenal were gifted a point due to a freak own goal by Pepe Reina, the Gunners seem to have got back in touch with the glorious football they play after beating Blackpool 6-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger’s young guns were all over Blackpool and it showed from the start of the game after just the 12th minute, Theo Walcott scored the opener of what later became a disastrous day for the visitors.

Arsenal was two up by the 32nd minute after a clumsy challenge by Blackpool’s Ian Evatt dropped the Gunners Chamakh for a penalty which Arshavin converted into the net.

Seven minutes later Walcott was back in action and Arsenal went three up after some great intelligent football by the Arsenal boys to make it 3-0 and put the game beyond Blackpool’s reach.

I’m sure Blackpool’s manager, Ian Holloway grilled his players a little while in the dressing room but the Gunners continued where they left off from and by the 49th minute Arsenal were 4-0 up after Diaby converted a cross by Sagna.

Walcott scored his third and Arsenal’s 5th of the game and earned to take the match ball home after the wiz kid was set up by Diaby in which the England International could only do one thing, and that was to net the ball.

Arsenal’s final goal game on the 83rd minut after Chamakh who worked very hard all game headed a corner past Blackpool’s goalkeeper, Matthew Gilks.

Walcott was the talking point of the game after the 21-year-old International scored a hat-trick in a period where just a few months back he had been disappointed by not being called to the England World Cup squad.

However Walcott showed his character and lightning speed by netting three goals and showing what he is capable of.
