Clinton who started her Asia tour in Japan condemned North Korea for the torpedo attack and has said that North Korea must face the consequences of their actions.

A large proportion of Clinton’s tour of Asia was going to consist of the China, US business relations but this has been marred by the report by the joint international investigation which concluded that North Korea were responsible for the sinking of the South Korean warship.

Clinton said “The evidence is overwhelming and condemning. The torpedo that sunk the Cheonan and took the lives of 46 sailors, was sent by a North Korean Submarine.”

“As me and Minister Okada (Japanese foreign minister) discussed, we will be in deep and constant consultations, not only between the United States and Japan but also with South Korea, China and others to determine our response.”

North Korea had threatened “all out war” if there were any retaliation by South Korea or any sanctions imposed.

China who are an ally of North Korea, have so far stayed away from taking sides on the attack saying the sinking was “unfortunate” and “tragic”, but asked for caution between the sides.

Clinton’s Asia Tour started in Tokyo, Japan and will also take the Secretary of State to China and South Korea.

North Korea are still denying any involvement in the sinking of the warship which left 46 sailors dead and dozens injured.

Meanwhile protesters gathered outside Defence Ministry in Seoul shouting anti-North Korea slogans. The protest finished peacefully.
