Avril Lavigne is set to walk down the aisle for the second time after accepting a 14-carat diamond ring from Nickelback leader Chad Kroeger.

The couple Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroeger got engaged on August 8, just a mere 6-months after first hooking up to co-write a song for Avril’s upcoming album.

A friend of Avril’s told to the magazine that romantic relationship between Chad and Avril blossomed as they spent time writing together. He said Chad makes Avril so happy and both of their families could not be more excited. For Canadian rock music fans this must be a match made in heaven.

Avril Lavigne was previously hitched to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, with the 2 calling it quits in 2009 after 3 years of marriage. Lavigne was recently rumored to be dating Marilyn Manson, and also dated Kardashian step-brother Brody Jenner. Meanwhile, Chad Kroeger spent six years with Marianne Goriuk.

27-year-old Avril, then retweeted the message to her 6 million followers online. She has since gone on to retweet a series of congratulatory messages from friends and fans. Ten years older from his fiancee Chad Kroeger is believed to popped the question on August 8, with a 14-carat diamond rock.
