A major power grid in Chile failed on Sunday to leave several cities and hundreds of thousands of homes with out any power 2 weeks after a massive earthquake hit the country.

Chile were without power on Sunday after the earthquake ravaged country after a major power grid that provided energy to several cities failed.

The massive power out also forced the mining from several mines to be stopped which is a major blow to the country as Chile’s main export is copper outputted from mines.

An official from Codelco the state mining giant and the world’s largest copper producer said; many mines in central Chile were effected from the power shortage but Billiton’s Escondida deposit, the worlds largest copper mine was unaffected.
