Indian bollywood celebrities mourned the killing of students and staff members of a school in a school shoot-out in US and favoured regulation of gun control in America.

Mumbai, Dec 15/Nationalturk – A day after a gunman killed 28 persons including 20 children in an elementary school in Newtown Connecticut, United States,  Indian bollywood celebrities Saturday mourned the killings and favoured regulation of gun control in America.

At least 28 persons  including 20 children and staff members of the elementary school, Connecticut, were killed in one of US’s second deadliest-school shooting yesterday.

The Indian Bollywood celebrities condemned the incident in their tweets on micro-blogging site twitter and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

“Atrocious! Saddened beyond grief! Just cannot believe that a human can possess such a sick demented mind! Prayers for families. Gun control? Try getting it passed in the Senate – it shall be gunned down,” India’s bollywood star Amitabh Bachan tweeted.

The Bollywood filmmaker Shekhar Kapur tweeted, “Heart goes out to parents and families of children who died in Connecticut. “

Another filmmaker Karan Johar’s tweet read, “Shocked and appalled at the massacre in Connecticut. Prayers to the families, who bear this tragic loss”.

‘US has to re-look and change their gun laws’

Kunal Kohli tweeted, “If guns are sold they will be used. Too many times have too many innocents died. The gun lobby still think they`re living in the Wild West? The US has to relook and change their gun laws. These killings have to stop. It`s sad meaningless and ridiculous. Guns can`t be sold to anyone.”

Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia in her tweet said, “Its unimaginable to see what`s happened in Newtown, Connecticut . Strength to each one, who has lost their loved ones.”

“Sad news from US, it is atrocious that guns are so comfortably available to a 20-year-old. My heart goes out to those who lost their little ones,” read Manoj Bajpayee’s tweet.

Another Bollywood personality Ehsaan Noorani said in his tweet,” Gun control is the need of the hour. Each little soul cries out.”

“How many school kids will be gunned down before the US begins gun regulation? It`s like their foreign policy – the wrong guys are given guns,” tweeted filmmaker Kabir Khan.

Meanwhile, different sections of society in India have also condemned the school shoot-out.
