Curfew relaxed in Nigeria

Africa christians and muslims clashThe 24-hour curfew issued by Nigerian authorities to stop religious clashes that have  killed hundreds in the central city of Jos on Thursday has been lightened after the city calmed down.

Along with the curfew, a large presence of police and the army on the streets put people off from carrying on the violence.

It is suspected that over 460 people have been killed and over 1000 wounded in the city after Muslim and Christian gangs clashed which lasted 4 days.

State  government spokesman Gregory Yenlong said “the curfew has been relaxed because there is some difficulty with displaced people wanting to go back to their homes and access basic needs of life”
