England cricket team is on course of historic test series win against India. It will be their first test series win against India in India since 1984-85.

Nagpur, Dec 17/Nationalturk- The English batsmen Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell have taken England on path of first test series (cricket) win against India  in India since 1984-85.

The two batsmen had come together when England were in a spot of bother after losing an important wicket of Pietersen at the score of 94.  He was the third English batsmen to be dismissed yesterday.

However, Trott and Bell have well negotiated Indian spinners on a 5th day pitch, which was not turning or spinning as Indian camp would have expected. In fact the pitch had slowed down, giving ample time for Trott and Bell to negotiating the Indian spinners.

India needed a couple of early wickets this morning to create panic among the English camp and opening for itself. The Indian skipper M S Dhoni took new ball only after one over was bowled today. However, the new ball too did not pose any questions for the English batsmen, who toiled hard.

Trott reached three figure mark (100) with  a sweet time trade mark drive against Indian spinner Piyush Chawla. It was only his second hundred since making 203 against Sri Lanka, in Cardiff, in May 2011. It was Trott’s eighth Test century and he might reckon it one among the best.

His partner Bell ably supported him and kept the strike rotating.  He made a composed half-century and proved his critics wrong, who had raised question mark on his playing spinners in Indian sub continent pitches.

The two batsmen negated the threat of Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha, Ashwin, Piyush Chawla and Ravindra Jadeja.

At the lunch England were comfortably placed and were lead by imposing 244 runs. The two batsmen continued to milk Indian spinners after the lunch break and did not show any sign of upping the ante. They continued to defend.

An hour and half after lunch, English were pretty much in safe-zone. The two batsmen had taken score to 294 in 133 overs. Trott was batting on 142 (of 308 balls) while Bell was not out on 82 of 238 balls. Only 36 overs play was left in the match.

English batsmen ensured that England won’t lost

Now, English batsmen have ensured that they won’t lose this match and will ensure 2-1 lead. Even if English declare at this point of it, it would be impossible for India to chose 300 runs in 30 odd overs on a slow pitch.

In all, scenarios England is on course of winning the test series. It will  be their first test series win for England in India since 1984-85. The series has seen tremendous turn-around for English due to the hardwork of English players. After losing first test match to India by 10 wickets, England came back hard and won the second and third test matches.

The English team is likely to celebrate their first series win over India since 1984-85 in a big way. There will be parties in the hotels.

After the series loss, first since 1984-85, the chances of Indian skipper M S Dhoni retaining test captaincy have diminished. The Indian selectors may show an exit door to him and appoint new skipper.
