Known as Riot Granny, Emine Cansever (53) has been in jail for two months.

Each of us remembers Riot Granny from the protests of Gezi Park. Cansever’s image was published in national and international media during the protests in Istanbul and  she became popular with her image in Istanbul.

Riot Granny is still in jail

Two months ago, she was arrested with 18 other citizens in Istanbul, Gumussuyu. Accused of being a member of terrorist group, Riot Granny is still in jail. Social media, especially Twitter is supporting Riot Granny.
