Fastest Goal On Record

Saudi Arabian footballer has scored the fastest goal on record

Nawaf Al Abed took the shot from more than 55 meters as soon as the kick off whistle was blown in a Saudi domestic game this weekend.

His speculative effort surprised both the opposition goal keeper and the cameraman, who only caught up with the ball as it flew into the net.

The goal, which set Al Hilal up for a 4-0 victory over Al Shoalah in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Cup match on Saturday, was officially logged at two seconds.

If confirmed by Fifa that would smash existing records for the quickest goal in competitive game
Uruguayan striker Ricardo Olivera struck after 2.8 seconds for his side Rio Negro against Soriano in 1998 – the fastest strike in professional match – while in 2004 Marc Burrows scored for amateur side Cowes Sports in just 2.5 seconds in a Wessex League match against Eastleigh Reserves.

The fastest goal in the Premier League was scored by Tottenham’s Ledley King against Bradford in 2000 after just 10 seconds.
