FIFA Amblum South Africa

The third day of the final rounds of the group stages will start on Thursday and four teams in total will say goodbye to the prospects of being a World Champion with another four going to the last 16 of the competition.

Thursday 24th June, FIFA 2010 World Cup South Africa schedule.

Group F
Paraguay Vs. New Zealand – 04:00pm local time
Slovakia Vs. Italy – 04:00pm local time

Group E
Cameroon Vs. Netherlands – 08:30pm local
Denmark Vs. Japan – 08:30pm local

The Group stage matches will be played at the same time to make the games as fair as possible.

Group F
Paraguay Vs. New Zealand
Slovakia Vs. Italy

All teams in Group F have the chance to progress to the last 16 of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Paraguay and New Zealand were able to draw with favorites Italy and the winner of game will guarantee admission to the knockout stages of the competition.

However Paraguay has the advantage as only a draw is enough for the South American side to earn a place in the last 16. If New Zealand lose against Paraguay, then they will be out of the competition.

The Slovakia Vs. Italy game is also very important with the holders of the cup favorites to win. However if Slovakia pull a victory out of the game and Paraguay win New Zealand, then Slovakia can go through.

Even if New Zealand beat Paraguay Slovakia can Go through to the last 16 of the competition should they win Italy by a four goal difference, something which is highly unlikely.

Group E
Cameroon Vs. Netherlands
Denmark Vs. Japan

Group E will also have a very exciting encounter as Denmark and Japan will fight it out to go through to the last 16 of the competition. The Netherlands had already guaranteed a spot in the knockout stages with Cameroon already having no chance of going through.

Both Japan and Denmark were able to beat Cameroon and with the Netherlands facing the African side, both Denmark and Japan will desperately be fighting for a win.

However Japan is in a slightly advantageous position as a draw will be enough for the Asian side to go through due to superior goal difference. Denmark conceded two goals against the Netherlands which put their goal average to minus one where as Japan’s average is 0. The one extra goal can be the decisive moment between the two nations.
