The Iraqi army needs help in the fight against the terrorist militia “Islamic State”: In order to train them, now a British unit travels to Baghdad and supports US soldiers on the ground. The contract could escalate into Kurdish territory.

Great Britain sent troops to Baghdad to train Iraqi soldiers to fight the terrorist militia “Islamic State (IS)”. The reported the British newspaper “Times”. The officers shall jointly with US soldiers advise and train Iraqi forces. Accordingly, instructors may also be sent in the Kurdish areas in the north of the country. German Bundeswehr soldiers also form Kurdish fighters in dealing with German weapons. For this purpose, a total of 13 German soldiers are stationed in Arbil, including six paratroopers to training.
