Turkish outfit Galatasaray and Italian coach Robarto Mancini have ceased to contract.

oberto Mancini has left his position as Galatasaray manager by mutual consent.

The Italian, who took over the Super Lig club in October, had insisted a couple of days ago, that he wanted to stay at the club despite admitting his misses his country.

A statement on Galatasaray’s website read that Mancini’s contract had been mutually terminated at the manager’s request and that he leaves the club with “friendship” and their best wishes.

The departure of Mancini from Turkey has immediately led to speculation linking him with a return to England and the Premier League. The 49 year-old Italian managed Manchester City between 2009 and 2013, leading the Citizens to their first Premier League title in 2011/12.

Rumours have seen Mancini linked with the vacant managerial position at Southampton, who are seeking a new boss to replace Mauricio Pochettino following the Argentinian manager’s move to Tottenham.
