The lawyer of Ali Vakili Rad, the convicted murderer of Iranian decent, has said that it is expected that he will be flown home to Iranian capital Tehran.

Rad was caught in Switzerland and was extradited to France where he was convicted for the murder of the assassination of the former Prime Minister of Iran and sentenced to life in prison.

Bakhtiar assassinated in France but had several attempts on his life. He was known for his involvement in bringing a non Islamic state to Iran but was over thrown by Ayatollah Khomeini with the Islamic revolution of 1979 declared.

The move is seen by many critics as a pact which France and Iran deny after Clotilde Reiss, a French teacher was charged by the Iranian courts of spying, but later released.

Also just two weeks ago, France had freed an Iranian engineer after suspecting the man of exporting illegal electronic parts for the Iranian Military.

Majid Kakavand, the man released earlier this month for the alleged exportation of the illegal electronic parts was also wanted by the United States, but the extradition of Kakavand was rejected by the French.
