Henri Lansbury put England ahead with a stunning effort from the left touchline. Although many will argue it was a cross! Caulker then doubled England’s advantage with a close range header before Lansbury then got his second of the game with a well placed shot with Debutant Wilfried Zaha’s assist.

Arsenal’s highly-rated teenager Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain concluded the convincing victory with a stoppage-time penalty.

With the result the Belgian’s hope to catch England at the top of Group Eight faded, and the only way that Norway could catch on England would be by winning all their remaining three games and hoping England drop points in their last two.

England’s remaining games are away to Azerbaijan on September 6 and at home to Norway at an as-yet undecided venue on September 10.
