It is a place like out of a horror movie: From 1900 to 2011 teenagers in the Florida School for Boys were systematically beaten, tortured and raped, in some cases, apparently to death.

What does the former inmates of the Florida School for Boys in Marianna to write about their experiences, is so terrible that it can hardly endure. Many of them have made public their stories in recent years. They call themselves the White House Boys – after the white concrete building, which took place the abuses.

On the grounds of the school, which at times was also named Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys (AGDS), archaeologists have now found much more graves than it should enter. They bear witness to the brutal methods of education, where the guards obviously took even the death of the boy in purchasing.

In the fall of 1965, his brother Gregory came after only a few months in the Florida School for Boys briefly back home. Horror School in Florida:Almost twice as many graves as suspected

A team led by Erin Kimmerle of the University of South Florida helps with archaeological methods to bring the horror to light : You are looking at the site for the burial places . A part of the official burial place used by operators of the school apparently later as a rubbish dump, the excavators found there waste from the last years of the institution. Probably the most moving find was a marble: “Someone had one of the dead boy plugged as grave goods in your pocket,” says Wade-Martinez.

Horror School in Florida:The horror was no secret

Using ground-penetrating radar and cadaver detection dogs that are trained on old bones will seek forensic scientist Kimmerle other graves. Samples of bones and teeth are sent for DNA analysis at the Health Science Center, University of North Texas. Eleven families who have lost loved ones in the Florida School for Boys, have already been reported.
