He sang “Eye of The Tiger”, the hit song from “Rocky III”: At the age of 63 years Survivor frontman Jimi Jamison died unexpectedly. He had solo with the “Baywatch” theme success.

After the end of the eighties the hits were rare, the band broke up temporarily in 1989 from Chicago. Jimi Jamison turned down offers from, enter as a singer with Deep Purple and Journey, solo, he sang “I’m Always Here” the theme to the TV series “Baywatch”. In the nineties, Survivor went back with Dave Bickler on tour, while also Jimi Jamison applied for his appearances with Survivor. This led to protracted litigation. 2000 Bickler was fired again and Jamison returned. As of 2013, the band toured with two lead singers. Yet on 30 August they performed in Morgan Hill, California.

The death of Jimi Jamison at the age of 63 years was unexpected. “The whole Survivor family is very shocked and saddened by the death of our brother Jimi Jamison,” it said on Tuesday in a statement on the official Facebook page of the band. The musician died on Sunday evening at his home in Memphis of a heart attack, said one of his agents of the celebrity portal “TMZ”.
