Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said “Western countries should comply with Iran’s rational demand (access to) peaceful use of nuclear energy”

The Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi urged this Sunday the world powers to support the legitimate right of Iran to develop peaceful nuclear energy, and the parliament dismissed exposure to espionage from the West to their military bases. Teheran opposes to any kind of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear ones, because its doctrine is based on the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said Vahidi in staments to the press.

During a visit this Sunday to an exhibition on the achievements of the defense industry from the Persian nation, the minister advised the West to understand the Islamic Republic will not abandon its rights in the future negotiations in Moscow.

Iran and the so called G5+1 (the permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany) have foreseen a new round of talks in the Russian capital on June 18 and 19 after the one held on May 23 and 24 in Baghdad, Iran.

Vahidi said “Western countries should comply with Iran’s rational demand (access to) peaceful use of nuclear energy” and “pay attention to the fact that as it is interested in the interaction and cooperation, it will not give up from its rights.”

For his part, Deputy Evaz Heidarpour said his colleagues from the Majlis (Parliament) will not allow the West to spy Iranian military centers, not even under the guise of inspection of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Heidarpour specifically referred to Parchin military base, the one that US and Europe insist is a place where they seek the manufacture of atomic weapons and had pressured the IAEA to allow UN supervisors to visit the facility.
