The Isis-jihadists have taken one of the most important industrial centers in Iraq under fire: the oil refinery in Baiji. The staff are on the run, the attackers penetrate into the complex.

The jihadists in Iraq have attacked the largest refinery in the country. The fighters of the terrorist group “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria” (Isis) had entered the Baiji refinery complex in the province of Salaheddin north of Baghdad, said a representative of authorities.

“They now control the production, the administration building and four watchtowers. These are three-quarters of the land,” said an eyewitness. Currently, the attacker provided with security forces still fighting to a control room. Previously, she should have mortar shells and machine gun fire used.
