England and Chelsea full back John Terry is to reach the FA Cup final against Portsmouth on Saturday after an injury scare put doubt on the influential players participation in the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Carlo Ancelotti Relieved after John Terry injury fears not as bad as first thought.

John Terry has revealed that there is no fracture in his metatarsal bone after a training ground collision with a team mate left the Blue’s centre back, walking on crouches to the hospital for a scan.

John Terry revealed that even he had thought the injury was much worse then what it turned out to be after a collision with striker Daniel Sturridge left the striker on top of the experienced defenders right foot.

Terry said “I was just running back to goal and Daniel Sturridge fell on top of me. My foot was caught underneath. I thought it was quite bad initially, but once I had the scan, it was just bruising and today there was no problem at all.”

“It was sorted out in a couple of hours but I was a bit scared, I must say. Once I had the scan I didn’t wear the boot, it’s just protection really. The doctor advised me to keep it on. But once I got the scan results I was back in my normal trainer.”

The welcomed good news has calmed the nerves of both Chelsea Manager Carlo Ancelotti and England Manager Fabio Capello.

While it is obvious how important Terry is to Chelsea, Ancelotti was also left sweating over the news with injury doubts on Ferdinand who has had an injury plagued season and Ledley King also only playing from match to match due to an ongoing knee injury.

The situation in defense is so bad that Jamie Carragher, 32 was recalled out of international retirement, into the 30 provisional players, Ancelotti has chosen.
