Lady GaGa gives Mark Ronson advice

Lady GaGa gives Mark Ronson advice Mark Ronson has revealed he has taken singing lessons from Lady GaGa’s voice coach for his new album.

The producer is singing for the first time on Record Collection, set for release in July under the name Mark Ronson and the Business.

“It was very weird to be on the other side of the glass,” he said. “It gave me a lot more respect for all the singers I’ve ever worked with.”

The Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears and Miike Snow also feature on the album.

Ronson said Lady GaGa suggested he take singing lessons from Don Lawrence while the two were recording in 2007.

“We were working in the studio and I started singing and she said ‘take some lessons’. I started going last July and then I just went every week.

“Alex Greenwald, who sang Just on my last album, recorded all my vocals. He’s the one person I could trust and not feel like an idiot.”

Record Collection is the follow up to 2007’s Version, which featured guest vocalists including Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. It earned Ronson the Brit Award for best male the following year.
