Manchester City to offer Barcelona Striker Ibrahimovic €607,000 a week

Manchester City have reportedly offered Swedish International Zlatan Ibrahimovic who plays club football at Barcelona a four-year contract worth around €607,000 a week.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be on his way to the Premiership

The towering Striker had a disappointing debut season after transferring from Inter Milan to the Spanish giants on a multi million Euro transfer fee and contract.

If the transfer does indeed go ahead, the Barcelona striker would get €29 million a year which will accumulate to €116 million over four years.

With such an astronomical contract, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be the most paid sports star in the world directly from his club, with sponsorship deals and bonuses from Manchester City.

According to reports, the English newspaper “The Sun” wrote that the talented striker’s manager Mino Raiola, was contacted by City officials and the staggering offer made to show how much the club want Ibrahimovic in Manchester.

The staggering fee will make Ibrahimovic get paid significantly more than any footballers playing in the Premiership and La Liga where most of the world’s best athletes play.

Superstars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Steven Gerard and Frank Lampard all get significantly less than the proposed contract to Ibrahimovic.

The Swede who is reportedly unhappy at the Catalonia side is said to want a transfer out but this has not been confirmed yet.

Manchester City is also a good place for Ibrahimovic as the striker has already worked with City manager Roberto Mancini.

Barcelona’s transfer of David Villa when the market re-opened at the beginning of summer has also put pressure on Ibrahimovic according to close sources.
