Manchester United Transfer:Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Old Trafford / EPL News

Real Madrid star Christiano Ronaldo wants to return to Manchester United after 4 years, Sir Alex Ferguson wants either  but the £122 M price is very expensive.

In his fourth season at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo sees himself with an opportunity to return to a stadium he once called home, albeit still in the capacity of a Real Madrid player. The reigning Spanish champions have been paired against Manchester United in the first knockout round of the Champions League and the second leg of the tie will see Ronaldo return to Old Trafford. Without a shadow of doubt, this will be the event of the entire round of matches and the fans already await the moment.

Cristiano Ronaldo has waited 11 months for Real Madrid to give him a new deal—now he can force his way out in the summer. Just like he did when he was at Manchester United.

His £810million get-out clause gives Madrid the upper hand. Or does it? This summer, Ronaldo will have two years left on his contract. Snub a new deal and, get-out clause or not, Madrid will have to accept a much lower fee.

Ronaldo’s transfer fees are assumed to be somewhere close to £122 M, which is something even the likes of PSG and Manchester City will find hard to meet. The only catch here is the current state of the Real Madrid dressing room, which is far from healthy.

The recent omission of skipper Iker Casillas could well end the stint of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho – who himself is considered an heir to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. Should Mourinho leave at the end of the season, Ronaldo will surely contemplate his future at the club but at this stage it is extremely difficult to predict how soon a move away from Real Madrid will materialize.

Ronaldo had some kind words for the club he is set to face in the next round of the Champions League:

I won’t celebrate if I score against United. I still speak with Ferguson. I miss him a lot, and I miss Manchester United. I felt very good there, it was like a family. I had six great years there and am still friends with my team-mates. It is thanks to Manchester United that I am here playing for Real Madrid. Without them, I wouldn’t be the player I am today.

Manchester United are presently booming with attacking talents in their rank and by no means do they ‘need’ to add any more players to their already potent offence. However, Cristiano Ronaldo is one player any team would bench their regular starters for and even go on to change the formation and tactics to accommodate him in their game-play.

However, one thing is pretty certain – should Ronaldo show a real desire to play for Manchester United in a season’s time or two, Sir Alex will need to take some tough calls which may even mean the exclusion of the crowd favorite Chicharito and the ever-improving academy graduate Danny Welbeck.

Every proposition is too preposterous at this stage though. Given the professional that Ronaldo is, his commitment to Real Madrid is pretty intact at this stage and only at the end of the season, depending on a various other factors, will he give the due attention to his future.
