Zenit St. Petersburgh £25m deal offer made to Manchester United for protuguese winger Nani.

Zenith St Petersburg is looking forward to launching a bid for Manchester United winger Nani while manager Luciano Spalletti insisted the club won’t pay over the odds.

Manchester United has avalanche of wingers in their squad and everyone is unsure about the probable formation that Sir Alex Ferguson might employ during the season.

Keeping in mind the avalanche of midfielders Manchester United have got and the recent acquisition of Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund this summer, Nani might find it hard to get regular first team actions. Zenith, who are linked with Hulk of Porto are monitoring the winger’s situation and would formally approach United for the availability of the player.

“The news about Nani is true,” Spalletti said while on Friday.

“Everything will depend on how much players cost because we won’t pay excessive amounts of money.”

The former Roma manager added, when quizzed about any formal offers made “I’m not talking about an offer to a particular player, but an offer to a club.’

“If the club won’t sell a player, then there’s no thought of making an offer to the player himself.”
