Manchester United’s new offer for Van Persie £25million Latest Man Utd News / Manchester United Transfer News
25 July, 2012 | 11:56

Manchester United’s continued insistence on Van Persie, Alex Ferguson  wants to see to him on team this year

Manchester United Boss Alex Ferguson is keen to add to his striking options this summer, having put Dimitar Berbatov and Federico Macheda up for sale and released veteran forward Michael Owen.

CLICK FOR 100 GOALS OF VAN PERSIE

The Red Devils have already seen a £15million bid rejected for top target Van Persie, and while Ferguson is keen to press ahead with a second offer, he is unwilling to meet Arsenal’s £25million asking price.

Thirty Premier League goals, five in Europe, numerous player of the year awards, more than one “Goal of the Season” candidate, the player’s seeming preference for the red half of Manchester…and the list goes on.

But for all the accolades and all of the fates seemingly lined up in Sir Alex’s favour, the signature of Robin van Persie is one he must avoid at all costs.

Bear in mind that Arsene Wenger is no fool, for all the talk of van Persie being the “Bargain of the Summer,” the Arsenal boss will certainly not let him leave for anything less than his valuation.

That means Sir Alex has to shell out close to £25 million to bring him to Old Trafford.

That’s £25 million for a player who, until this season, struggled to get through a league campaign uninjured.

Twenty-five million pounds for a player who, turning 29 years old next month, may only have a year or two left at the peak of his abilities.

Twenty-five million pounds for a player whose attitude and commitment have been drawn into question several times throughout this ongoing saga.

Twenty-five million pounds for an Arsenal player.

This all, of course, avoids the most palpable reason for resisting such a move—the fact that United are not short of strikers in their squad and have absolutely no desire to move on any of said strikers.

i agree Kaelon when taken out of context they can appear to be contradictory but im pretty sure the second paragraph you quoted is referring to rooney, hernandez and welbeck and not the before mentioned trio.

for goodness sake, man u r not in short of strickers.fergie shld let RVP be.Hes not worth £25m.RVP has reach his peak n the nxt thing now is his declining staget.lets not berbatov calamity befall utd again.intead he shld go 4 Lewandowski.

  25. Emmanuel Lopus - 26 July 2012

Van persie come to United is agood place for you.and win trophies..

  26. Abelfelix - 26 July 2012

Van is not good for the red,is only good for the blues.

  27. Din - 27 July 2012

If v get Lucas v don’t need rvp.moura can play anywhere in mfield nd striker. Rvp can’t have his time to settle,he has to prove straightaway.its a high risk. But moura can take his time. Strnthng engine is vital to score more goals rember v lost only by g.diff.

  28. Din - 27 July 2012

More the no of midflders who can score, tightens midfld an gives more control over oppsn. So Lucas wil be money well spent than rvp who can’t operate flexibly than up front. Man u 4 ever!

  29. Ashish - 27 July 2012

Sir Alex should buy Van Persie as the Dutch was only the few who could net against Manuel Neuer.Joe Hart thinks that he is nightmare to face.If RVP moves to Man U that Man City will think thousands of times before facing us.

  30. NEWTONE ONDITI - 27 July 2012

V.P IS FIT FOR UNITED EVEN AT 90 MILLIONS LET MAN U SELL EVERY PLAYER AND LET V.P JOIN NANI IN THE SQUAD.

  31. Hastings - 28 July 2012

Rvp z not such a bad player let Fergie pay 4 him coz t wl b 4 our team’s benfit.
