Mass grave belonging to drug gangs found in Remote area in Mexico

Mexican soldiers have said that they have found a mass grave which the size of a football pitch with at least 38 bodies.

It is believed that the remote site in Nuevo Leon Northern Mexico was used by Mexican drug gangs to execute, interrogate and torture their victims.

Mexican authorities which came to the area due to an anonymous tip-off were shocked by the size of the mass grave and was initially thought that hundreds of bodies may be buried in the area.

It is not yet known how long the area was used as a burial site but authorities have said that the bodies were not able to be identified because of severe decomposing.

Almost 25,000 people have been killed in drug gang related incidents in Mexico since December 2006 after Mexican President Felipe Calderon announced the war on drugs.
