Pakistan mobile networks are becoming terror networks, country’s Interior Minister has said.

Islamabad, Jan 4/Nationalturk – Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said country’s mobile networks are becoming terror networks.

“The mobile networks have now become terror networks with almost all explosions involving improvised explosive devices in country’s Quetta and Karachi cities employing mobile phones,” Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik was quoted as having said by Pakistan’s official news agency, APP, while chairing a high level meeting to review law and order situation in the country.

He said when the mobile services were suspended for Ashura and Chehlum, there was not a single incident of improvised device explosions.

Malik said occasionally mobile service is suspended in cities to prevent loss of lives. “The step is being taken to maintain law and order in the country and save precious human lives”.

“The mobile phone has become a nightmare. Few hours’ suspension of mobile phone services helped to control terrorism as no terrorist incidents take place,” he said.

The mobile networks in Pakistan have been suspended on many occasions in the past to prevent terrorist attacks.

Meanwhile, Malik directed Pakistan Telecommunication to take adequate measures to prevent illegal sale of mobile SIMs.
