Tulisa Contostavlos and Jessie J are competing to earn title Mobo Awards.
She may have helped Tulisa pick X Factor winners Little Mix at the Judges Houses stage of the competition but now Jessie J will go head to head with the ‘Young’ singer at the 2012 MOBO awards.
The nominations for this year’s MOBO’s were announced earlier tonight with both Jessie J and Tulisa receiving a nomination for ‘Best Female’.
The two singers will also be facing stiff competition from Rebecca Ferguson, Rita Ora, Jessie Ware and Emeli Sande.
Emeli Sande picked up five nominations in total this evening, topping off her already perfect weekend after she married her long term boyfriend Adam Gouraguine on Saturday.
Plan B should also be a very happy man after picking up five nominations tonight.
Only last week Plan B was shortlisted for this year’s Mercury Music Award for his latest release, ‘Ill Manors’.
Other nominees include last year’s X Factor fourth runner up Misha B who will be battling it out with the likes of Conor Maynard and Stooshe for ‘Best Newcomer’.
Misha took to Twitter this evening to express her excitement posting: “OMGGGG I’ve been nominated for a @MOBOawards!!!! Best Newcomer!!!”
JLS were also nominated this evening in the ‘Best Video’ category facing competition from the likes of Rizzle Kicks, Emeli Sande (again!), Plan B and Rita Ora.
An excitable Marvin Humes wrote on the band’s official Twitter page this evening about the nomination.
He posted: “Sick news!!! We’ve just found out we’re nominated for a #MOBO award!!! Best video for Do You Feel What I Feel!!! Thanks @MOBOawards Marv x”
The winners will be announced at this year’s MOBO awards Ceremony on 3 November at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
