Mumbai Blast Attack Suspect Arrested

Mohammad Zahir, a Nepalese citizen was arrested close to Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, suspected of involvement in the triple Mumbai bombing attacks of July 13, 2010.

Intelligence provided by India led to the arrest of Zahir, 40, a resident in Sarlahi Terai, near the border with India.

Police reports say the man was engaged in “suspicious activities” at a rented apartment in Baluwatar, a high-class neighborhood in Kathmandu, also seat of the Prime Minister’s residence.

Zahir made and received phone calls liked to the blasts in India’s financial capital, and sent mails on the matter from his cell phone.

Local news sources inform Zahir was arrested last week but the information was not disclosed and the Police in Nepal has made no comments. regarding the arrest of the alleged Mumbai blasts suspect.

India Mumbai Blasts : Murder of 20 found ?

On July 13th last year Mumbai bombings proved to be fatal and caused 20 deaths and 130 wounded and India’s security forces have not found a solid trail leading to the perpetrators of the heinous attacks.

Considering its open border with Nepal, India estimates that behind many of the terrorist attacks lie people with some connection to the neighbor nation, whether through arms trafficking and hired hit men or as the logistics suppliers.
