Bad surprise for a family in London: In a banana delivery from the supermarket is a deadly Brazilian wandering spider was hiding. The animal was sitting on hundreds of tiny spider eggs.

A family from London got a huge shock when you open a delivery of the supermarket chain Waitrose. Inside the box a Brazilian wandering spider had nestled between banana – one of the most aggressive and poisonous spiders in the world. Their bite can be fatal to humans.

Father Tim, who declined to give his last name, I discovered the spider when unpacking the box, told the British “Guardian”. Startled, he threw them together with bananas in a fruit bowl, stuck doing the leg of a spider. He photographed the animal and then found out on the internet, how dangerous it is. Tim fled with his wife and two sons – seven and eight years old – out of the house.

Then the father, tried to get help. However, neither the animal welfare organization RSPCA nor the police wanted to take up with the spider, whose bite can lead to death within two hours. Finally, the supermarket chain sent an employee. But when watched in the kitchen of the family, the animal was gone.

The spider had bent over backwards to escape from the trap. Among the hundreds of bananas the animal had left tiny spider eggs. Waitrose alerted the exterminator Steve Trippett. This grabbed the eggs in the freezer to kill them. Then he set out with a long grip arm on the hunt for the spider. When the exterminator discovered the animal, it stood on its hind legs, showing his claws.

Trippett grabbed the spider and packed them into a secure box. The animal should now be studied in a scientific laboratory. “I must always remember that the spider me or my son could have killed,” Tim told the newspaper “Mail on Sunday”.

It was not the first incident of its kind in London. About a year ago a woman had bought in a London supermarket bananas. On the fruit: a tiny walking spider colony.
