No Chinese troops incursion has taken place in India, Indian army chief General Dalbir Singh has said.

New Delhi, Aug 19/Nationalturk – Indian army chief General Dalbir Singh today dismissed media reports that Chinese troops have entered 25 to 30 kms inside Indian territory.

“There is nothing like that (incursion for Chinese troops) in Indian territory in Ladakh,”Indian army chief General Dalbir Singh Singh told reporters today.

He dismissed reports of Chinese troops entering 25 to 30 km deep into Indian territory in Burtse area in Ladakh.

Earlier, India’s wire news agency, Press Trust of India (PTI) quoting sources had reported that Chinese troops had entered 25 to 30 km inside Indian territory in the Burtse area of north Ladakh in Indian administered Kashmir.

The Chinese soldiers, according to media reports, have set up tents and held flags reading, “This is Chinese territory, go back.” The area is at an altitude of 17,000 feet.

‘Chinese troops entered Indian territory on Sunday’

According to sources quoted by PTI, Chinese troops had entered Indian territory on Sunday and pitched four tents with flags on them claiming that this was their territory.

“An Indian patrol party spotted Chinese soldiers in Burtse area on Sunday. A Quick Reaction Team that had accompanied the Indian team afterwards  failed to make any headway with the Chinese, who refused to leave their position. The Indian troops finally returned to their base and informed senior officers,” the wire news agency reported.

In April last year, Chinese soldiers were involved in a stand-off in Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) in Depsang plains in mountainous Ladakh region. The Chinese soldiers had pitched tents in the area and left the area after 21 days following talks between military and civil leadership of India and China.
