In another shocking incident, a 19-year girl was gang raped in a moving three-wheeler in Indian capital New Delhi.

New Delhi, March 7/Nationalturk – There is no letup in rape incidents in India and a 19-year girl was gang raped in a moving three-wheeler in Indian capital New Delhi.

Reports said 19-year old girl was gang-raped by three people in a moving three wheeler in Ghaziabad area in New Delhi on the evening of March 2.

The girl has told police that she had shared the three-wheeler to head home from Shipra Mall at Indira Puram. “The three people travelling in the three-wheeler including the driver took me to an isolated place at Dasna near Ghaziabad, where I was gang-raped and robbed off belongings,” she told police.

Media reports said three wheeler drove for more than two hours and passed through various police check points without being noticed. “After raping her, they threw her onto the road. The victim was found bleeding by some passersby and taken to police station. The cops registered a case and launched a manhunt to track down the rapists. Two of the accused have been arrested and they have confessed of committing rape,” police sources said.

They said two men in the back had pinned her down and gagged her. “They prevented her from shouting for help while outraging her modesty,” police sources said adding the three- wheeler had been stolen by three men and were on “a joyride.”

Sharing of three wheelers is a common practice in some parts of India because it makes commuting cheaper.

4 rape incidents in Delhi this week

At least four more rape incidents have been reported from Delhi this week.

The first incident was reported from north-east Delhi’s Welcome area on Monday night in which 25-year-old woman was raped by four people in the moving car.

In another incident,  an eight-year-old girl was raped by an unidentified person in Delhi’s Anand Vihar area. The victim was found lying in a pool of blood and she is undergoing treated in a hospital.

A 14-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a 16-year-old boy at knife-point in Gokulpuri area on Tuesday. In the fourth incident, a 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her relative.

The Indian capital has earned the notoriety of being “rape capital” and over 700 rapes were reported from New Delhi in 2012.
