Pakistan’s economy hit by energy crisis

Pakistan has been facing energy crisis, which has crippled country’s economy.  The crisis is blamed on mismanagement of officials and corruption.

Earlier, on February 23, 2013, Pakistan’s then  Advisor to Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim had warned that gas reserves in country’s Sui and Qadirpur gasfields in country’s restive Balochistan province would run dry by year 2022.

Due to shortage of gas supply, country’s filling stations remain shut in most provinces for two days under gas load management plan, thus causing grave inconvenience to general public.
