According to latest UN report, Pakistan’s happiness index is much higher than its arch rival nuclear armed neighbor India.

New Delhi, Sept 11/Nationalturk – Despite facing near daily bombings, blasts, firing, targeted killings, drone attacks, Pakistan’s happiness index, as per UN report, is much higher than its arch rival nuclear armed neighbor India.

As per World Happiness Report released by United Nations General Assembly, Pakistan ranks 81st and India is way behind at 111th in the list of 156 countries. “Pakistan has 5.292 points while India has only 4.772 points,” reveals the UN report, which measures happiness and well-being in countries around the world to help guide public policy.

The happiest nation in the world, as per UN Happiness Index, is Denmark. It is followed by Norway, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, Finland, Austria, Iceland and Australia in top 10 positions, respectively.

Surprisingly, United States was ranked No 17.

Happiness report ranks countries on basis of 6 factors

The Happiness report ranks nations on the basis of six key factors that include GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, someone to count on, perceived freedom to make life choices, freedom from corruption, and generosity.

“Israel is 11th happiest nation in the world, Oman figures at No 23,Germany 26, Qatar 27, Kuwait 32, Saudi Arabia 33, Japan 43, Malaysia 56, Indonesia 76, Turkey 77, China 93, Iraq 105, Iran 115, Egypt 130, Afghanistan 143 and Syria 148,” the report states.

As per the UN report, Tango with 2.936 points is the least happiest country and figures at bottom of the list in 156th position.

Some 60 nations showed significant improvements in the study, which measured citizens’ own evaluations of their lives, while 41 others worsened. Gains were more common in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, while losses were more common among industrial countries.
