Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan ‘s AK Party is underway to have resounding victory having won 52 percent of the vote with 50 percent of the votes counted in Turker elections.

Turkey’s ruling AK Party government is on course to win a resounding victory in Sunday’s parliamentary election, having won 52 percent of the vote with 50 percent of the votes counted.

In 2007 elections AKP won with 46.5 percent of the vote. Opinion polls had suggested Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan’s AK Party would take between 45 and 50 pct of the vote this time. The center-left CHP was on 18 percent while the nationalist MHP was on 12 percent, exceeding the 10 percent threshold required for parties to enter parliament, Haberturk said.

There were no reports of trouble throughout election day in Turkey.
