Russell Brand dating Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell.

The couple, who reportedly got together after meeting at the London Olympic Closing Ceremony are said to be pretty serious about each other after only a few weeks of meeting and have been on a string of loved up dates since.

A source told  “He has fancied Geri for years, so this is almost like fulfilling a lifelong dream for him.”

“He really doesn’t mind who knows, because he’s serious about her.”

While Russ is usually pretty guarded about his private life, it seems the couple don’t mind flaunting their love and were spotted kissing and cuddling on Hampstead Heath in London recently.

An eye witness claimed:“Geri and Russell were being very open about everything, there was no attempt to hide the fact that they were on a date.

“There was lots of giggling, eye contact and touching as they sat together near a couple of trees.

“They looked like they had known each other for years – and the relationship was obviously more than just friendly.”

It seems that one thing that brought the pair together was their shared love of yoga. 40 year-old Geri helps keep her gorgeous figure toned through the exercise and Russ attends daily sessions.

A friend told  “Geri has said they have a spiritual connection through yoga and they practice asana together.

“Russell is known for action between the sheets but he is actually very good at just sitting still in silence. It is something that has acted as a bond for he and Geri as their relationship blossoms.”

Speaking after the Closing Ceremony Russell admitted he fancied Ginger Spice and claimed he had “Spice Girls mania”.

He said at the launch of his new BBC3 documentary: “I’ve got a massive crush on Geri Halliwell too, so everything in the world was as it should be.

He added: “I knew her and some of the other Spice Girls before the Olympics, but the girls were absolutely lovely – I love Geri, she’s a lot of fun.”

While he might “love” Geri spare a thought for his girlfriend, or rather former girlfriend Isabella Brewster who was loved up with the ‘Arthur’ star before bedding the Spice Girl.
