Istanbul / NationalTurk – Turkish Union of Clubs and TFF came upon an agreement for a proposal, which will be evaluated and possibly passed in the upcoming decisive gathering of extraordinary general meeting on 26th January.

The proposal suggests that the clubs involved in the match fixing scandal will be stripped of at least 12 points and the persons get fined, if they are found guilty for any match rigging attempt or activity.

TFF President Mehmet Ali Aydınlar is expected to give a more detailed version of the proposal in the following days. The clubs which are guilty of match fixing can also be stripped of championship or cup winners titles.

Relegation of the clubs to lower leagues isn’t suggested in the proposal, which raised eyebrows in the anxious Turkish Football society.

Fenerbahce responded quickly and showed its concern for the proposal’s content. ” We won’t accept any decision of point deduction, even a 0.5 point deduction. We think the 58th article should not be altered. The 58th article of TFF says any team which attempts bribery, match fixing, match rigging or game result manipulation will be relegated to a lower league.
