Mourinho and Chelsea to cross paths next summer, after Chelsea sacked Andre Villas-Boas and Chelsea boss Roman Abromovich wants to land the nest there is at Stamford Bridge.

LONDON / NationalTurk – Will Jose Mourinho leave his post at Real Madrid and return to Premiere Leauge, which he claimed to be his favourite championship ? Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich could forget old grudges and reunite at Chelsea after the former Chelsea manager is considered among the favourites to take charge at Chelsea next season after Mourinho’s compatriot Andre Villas-Boas was sacked following a 1-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea sacked Andre Villas-Boas, Mourinho at Chelsea helm next season ?

Chelsea languished in fifth place in the Premier League and former Chelsea midfielder Roberto Di Matteo, an assistant to Villas-Boas, has been named as interim Chelsea coach until the end of the 2011-2012 season.

Chelsea faces tough challenges in all competitions. They will try to avoid an embarrassing FA Cup fifth round replay exit against Championship outfit Birmingham when his side travel to St Andrews’ for Di Matteo’s first engagement in charge on Tuesday.

Chelsea and Di Matteo After have to focus then on lifting a really poor playing Chelsea back into the top four in the Premier League — thus securing a vital place in next season’s Champions League —

To overturn the 3-1 first leg deficit against Napoli in the last 16 of the Champions League this season will be a no less important and easy task for the aging squad of Chelsa.

Yes Chelsea faces a really tough schedule without a manager but the real intrigue at Chelsea now surrounds Russian multi-billionaire Roman Abramovich’s search for his eighth manager in his eight years as owner of the west London side.

Roman Abromovich Jose Mourinho – Love & Hate relation at Chelsea

Roman Abramovich has dismissed Claudio Ranieri, Mourinho, Avram Grant, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Carlo Ancelotti and now Villas-Boas, since buying Chelsea in 2003.

Matching Abramovich’s ambitions and investments for success at Chelsea with style increasingly seems like an impossible task, but the only man who has come close to completing the mission seems likely to be no one other than current La Liga leaders Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho. He has led Real Madrid to the top of La Liga despite fierce competition from Barcelona beating all odds against it.

Jose Mourinho : Lack of ‘ love ‘ in Madrid while stiil popular at Chelsea ranks

Jose Mourinho feels unloved in Madrid and Spain after troubled relationships with some of the club’s important figures and the Madrid media while it is no secret he is still in contact via text with key figures at Chelsea and remains well loved at Stamford Bridge by players and fans alike. He even mentioned on more than one occasion he loved to return to England and the Premier League.

To add grist to the rumour mill, Jose Mourinho was spotted on a very public trip to the British capital last week to purchase a new house in London.

Sources close to the eccentric yet undeniably successful Portuguese manager claim he is ready to return to England and it is speculated he is now on better terms with Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich after the rather bitter nature of his exit from Chelsea back in September 2007.

Next Chelsea manager candidates if the attempt for ‘ special one ‘ fails

William Hill installed former Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez, currently out of work after leaving Inter Milan, as 5/4 favourite to become the next permanent Chelsea manager, but it is Jose Mourinho — the 3/1 second favourite — who looks the best bet.

Fabio Capello, who quit as England coach recently, has also been named among the leading candidates for the Chelsea managing seat, while Everton boss David Moyes, Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers and former Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet, now in charge at Championship club Brighton, are in the bookmakers’ lists even though that trio look like long shots.

Another intriguing contender is Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola, who has a rolling one-year contract with the Spanish champions and maybe ready for a new challenge after so much success at the Nou Camp with Barcelona.

Abramovich delivered the news to Villas-Boas personally as he, chief executive Ron Gourlay and director Eugene Tenenbaum took him aside after training to inform him of his fate.

In the end Villas-Boas’s lack of experience at the highest level was brutally exposed as he struggled to deal with the job of dismantling a squad that had grown very old and maybe unmotivated since the glory days of the Jose Mourinho era.

Now it might well be the ‘ special one ‘ who returns to take on the fading egos in the Chelsea dressing room and build a new era in west London with a few squad changes along with him.

Jose Mourinho Vs Abramovich : The big awaited Champions League knockout stage game between Chelsea vs Inter Milan is only a week away, but excitement is already gathering around the game which sees "The Special One" Jose Mourinho return to Stanford Bridge.

The big awaited Champions League knockout stage game between Chelsea vs Inter Milan is only a week away, but excitement is already gathering around the game which sees “The Special One” Jose Mourinho return to Stanford Bridge.

The first leg of the Champions League Knockout stage saw Inter Milan Triumph against the West London side with Inter Milan beating Chelsea 2-1.

However rather then the teams, it was the managers who took centre stage with Jose Mourinho facing Chelsea for the first time since his controversial exit from the club on 20th September 2007 after feuds with Roman Abramovich.

Another really important fact to think about was Carlo Ancelotti, the Chelsea Manager who had returned to Milan for the first time since his exit from AC Milan the fierce rivals of Inter Milan.

The Fact that both managers have won the Champions League, Jose Mourinho with Porto in 2004, and Carlo Ancelotti with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007 has also added extra excitement to the fixture.

The big game however will be the Stanford Bridge saga of the epic battle between the two giants of European football.

Both Chelsea and Inter Milan will be going out onto the field with only one thing in mind, and that is to reach the Champions League Quarter Finals.

However there is much more in stake then the Champions League Cup, It’s a matter of pride for two men in particular, Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich.

Jose Mourinho Vs Roman Abramovich

The billionaire businessman, Roman Abramovich, suddenly came out of nowhere and turned the European football transfer market on it’s head with big money spending.

The charismatic Jose Mourinho, who came from a sporting family, started as a teacher and a low level coach, and made his own luck with his knowledge of the game. Mourinho managed his big break into the game with a lucky translator job for Bobby Robson at Sporting Clube de Portugal where he managed to befriend the English coach. Together they moved on to Porto and then Barcelona where Mourinho gathered the relevant experience required to coach a team.

Jose Mourinho was a big success at Chelsea as he managed a unique bond with the players and managed Chelsea as the fifth club ever since the Second World War to have back-to-back premiership victories (2005 to 2007).

So what had managed to make the charismatic Mourinho known as “The Special One” exit the club?

It was a collaboration of wrong doings mainly in the part of Abramovich which had eventually led to the exit of arguably the most successful manager of the clubs history.

The problems started with certain players being sent from the club, notably Eidur Gudjohnsen the Icelandic international who was transferred to Barcelona against the will of Mourinho.

But what ultimately ended Mourinho’s rain at Stanford Bridge was Andriy Shevchenko’s transfer from AC Milan for a club record fee. The Ukrainian striker who was regarded as one of the best players in the world at the time of his transfer to Chelsea, performed very poorly and only managed to score 14 goals in total in his debut season.

As Shevchenko’s performance carried on to decline, Mourinho started to drop the star signing of the summer out of the first 11 which made Abramovich unhappy.

The 06-07 premiership season had seen growing media attention on the Mourinho, Abramovich relation and there were even speculation that Mourinho will leave at the end of the season. There were also alleged power struggles between Mourinho and sporting director Frank Arnesen and Abramovich advisor Piet de Visser.

The final straws from the Abramovich administration at Chelsea FC came with the appointment of Avram Grant as Director of Football which was a sternly objected move by Mourinho. The situation got out of hand for Mourinho when Grant’s position at the club was anchored as he was given a seat on the board.

The tension came to breaking point when Dutch winger Arjen Robben was transferred to real Madrid and French midfielder Florent Malouda moved to Chelsea.

Mourinho finally departed from the club on 20th September, 2007, by mutual consent with the club following a meeting with the board.

Mourinho left the club with an impressive record. He had won Chelsea six trophies in three years and also undefeated in all home league games he managed in.

With all these past problems, suddenly put on the table from merely a Champions League knockout stage game, what can one expect.

The Champions League knockout stage game between Chelsea Vs Inter Milan is not just a mere game, it’s a battle field with arrows and swords being replaced by a football.
