David Beckham will jet into home today after experts hailed his Achilles operation.

Doctors in Finland are pleased with the surgery and hope Beckham will be back playing within six months.

Beckham saw his World Cup dream shattered on Sunday when he tore his Achilles tendon while playing for AC Milan. And the 34-year-old, who now has his leg in a cast, thanked the club’s fans for their support.

David Beckham said: “I want to thank from my heart all the Rossoneri.The club, the doctors, my team-mates and the fans. I have appreciated so much all the messages I have received after the injury, they are of great help and support. I truly thank you, the members of Milan for what they have done for me. I have read the many messages from the fans, I thank them one by one.”

David Beckham will miss the World Cup 2010 South Africa after tearing his achilles tendon on his left foot.

David Beckham was on the floor in agony due to his injury and was seen by television crews while in tears.

The former England skipper limped of the field signalling to the bench to be substituted. while on the sideline he was heard saying “It broken, It’s broken”.

Beckham was flown to Finland to have surgery today but he knows he will not be able to make to the World Cup in South Africa due to the severity of the injury.

AC Milan’s club doctor said last night that he will be out for at least 5 to 8 months and that his worries lie in weather Beckham’s career is over or not let alone his England appearance at the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

Beckham had shown great commitment to be chosen for the England squad that will compete in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. He completed loan moves from LA Galaxy to AC Milan to please Capello 2 years in a row.
