After Braga had beaten Sevilla 1-0 in their home ground a week ago, football fans were surprised as many had not even heard of the Portuguese side but they sure will now as Sporting Braga has managed to qualify to play in the Champions League group stages for the first time in their history.
Braga beat Sevilla 5-3 on aggregate 4-3 on the night.
Braga’s first goal came on the 38th minute through Matheus, which made the fans and players stressed as this led to Sevilla needing to score at least three goals to go through.
Sevilla hopes received a huge blow after Braga’s Lima scored his team’s second goal on the 58th minute to make it 2-0 for the Portuguese side.
Sevilla then pulled two goals through Luis Fabiano and Jesus Navas to give some hope to the Spanish boys before Lima scored a further two more goals one being three minutes before the end of the match.
Freddie Kanoute then scored Sevilla’s third goal to make it 4-3 to Braga but al was over and the Portuguese side triumphed over Sevilla.
Sevilla will now play in the UEFA Europa League while Braga will await to see their opponents in the Champions League.
This was the second big surprise for Sevilla after the Spanish club lost 4-0 against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup during the weekend conceding another hattrick this time from Lionel Messi.
