Italy had used three subsitutes, so when in the 61st minute Motta got injure and had to taken away the Azzurri were reduced to 10 players. While Italian living legend Gianluigi Buffon had a dreaded match for Italy, Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas performed superbly for Spain blocking at least a couple of certain goals.
