Sudan: Interior Ministry confirms beheading of a citizen in Saudi Arabia

Othman Mohammed was beheaded with the sword in Saudi Arabia

The Sudanese Interior Ministry has confirmed the beheading of its citizen with the sword in the Conservative country of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Khartoum /NationalTurk-The execution of  Mohammed took place in the western city of Mecca after he was found guilty of murder.

Othman Mohammed was found guilty of killing another Sudanese, Salah Ahmed, by repeatedly beating him on his head following a dispute between the two, the ministry said in a statement published by state news agency.

Mohammed’s beheading raises to 76 the number of people executed so far this year in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, where 79 were put to death in 2011 according to Amnesty International.

Some of the crimes committed in Saudi Arabia that can amount to death include Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking under the strict Sharia law.
