Man Utd midfielder Tom Cleverley surely got the attention of British soccer. He has been called up to the England squad for Wednesday’s friendly against the Netherlands.
Cleverley, 21, came on as a substitute during United’s 3-2 Community Shield victory over Manchester City on Sunday and the young midfielder change the tide of the game for Manchester United.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and Manchester United’s Michael Carrick have both withdrawn. Tom Cleverley is one of five Manchester United players in the England squad.

Spending most of his Manchester United career out on loan Tom Cleverley played first at Leicester, then at Watford and last season at Wigan Athletics. During that period Cleverley played for England at Under-20 level before making his Under-21 debut against Macedonia in 2009.
Ashley Young : Tom Cleverley will be a top player
United and England team-mate Ashley Young believes the midfielder has a very promising future ahead of him.
Young said for his fellow teammate: “Tom has done terrific all pre-season. He was brilliant when he came on in the Community Shield and he has a great future ahead of him.
“I am sure he will go on to be a top player. He is confident in his own ability and I am sure he will come here and do well.”
