Transfer News – Beşiktaş sign Real Madrid veteran Guti?

Turkish giants Beşiktaş who have eyed both the Turkish Super League and the UEFA Europa League for the 2010-11 season has allegedly agreed to terms with the manager of Real Madrid veteran Guti.

Guti is rumored to have agreed to all terms and conditions with Beşiktaş and is only awaiting to sign the papers.

Beşiktaş had also signed world famous Portuguese winger, Ricardo Quaresma, in an attempt to regain the Turkish League Championship and do well in the Europa League.

According to close sources within the Beşiktaş club, chairman Yıldırım Demirören has agreed to terms with the manager of Guti, and is preparing to fly to Spain and bring the Spanish footballer to Turkey on his private plane.

The same sources have also alleged that the manager of the 33-year-old, Santos Marquez Gonzalez and Beşiktaş representative Ahmet Ersöz has agreed on all terms and conditions and the only job in hand is for the official signatures to be made.

All of the past problems encountered by the meetings between the two representatives have been solved and Beşiktaş Chairman Yıldırım Demirören and Beşiktaş board members Serdal Adalı and Cengiz Zülfikaroğlu are expected to go to Madrid as soon as possible.

It has also been rumored that, Guti’s official signing ceremony will be made before the Europa league match against Víkingur Gøta at the Inönü Stadium (Beşiktaş home ground).

A source at Beşiktaş has also said that, the reason why Guti’s acceptance of coming to Beşiktaş is being kept a secret is due to a report which manager Bernd Schuster gave to the Beşiktaş board of director.

In the report, the German manager asked the Beşiktaş board to keep Zapotocny and Hilbert both of foreign nationalities at the club.

The problem Beşiktaş now faces is that they have a surplus amount of foreign nationals at the club but Turkish league rules apply that a team can only have six foreign nationals in the first 11 and the rest would be kept as substitutes.

Most foreign players who come to the Turkish league, are here to further their careers and go to bigger European clubs and most do not except to be substitutes.
