Turkey is reinforcing its Naval force in the Mediterranean Sea after the escalation in tension with Syria.

Alexandretta / NationalTurk – A number of warships and submarines have been sent to bases in the Mediterranean from the northwestern province of Gölcük where the main base of the Turkish Naval Forces is located. The Turkish war ships were fully loaded with arms labeled ‘ Syrian war load.’

Turkey Syria tensions have escalated after a Syrian shell bomb hit the Akçakale region in the southeastern Turkish province of Şanlıurfa right on Turkish Syrian border.

Turkey reciprocated by bombing Syrian army targets, and on Oct. 4 the Turkish Parliament passed a bill for a one-year resolution authorizing the military use of ground troops and air force for cross-border operations into ‘ foreign countries.’

Nato condemned the attack to Turkey. Allegedly the shell was fired by Syrian artillery, though speculations refer to so-called Free Syrian Army was responsible for the shelling.

Turkish PM stated that Turkey does not want a war with Syria, which denied they had apologised to Turkey for shelling one of its town and killing 5 of its citizens. Turkish media states ‘many ‘ Syrian soldiers were killed in retaliation bombing aimed for Syrian military targets.
