Turkey National Soccer Team, coached by Guus Hiddink, defeated Azerbaijan 1-0 in their last match of EURO 2012 Qualifying Group A at Türk Telekom Arena, Istanbul, Turkey and clinched the 2nd spot and thus a right to play playoffs.

The only goal of the match came from Burak Yılmaz on 60th minute with the assist of Selcuk Inan. Turkey finished EURO 2012 Qualifying group A in 2nd place and qualified to the play-offs which will be played on 11 and 15 November 2011. Germany defeated Belgium 3-1 while, Austria drew 0-0 against Kazakhstan at away in the day’s other matches of Group A.

Turkey, Rep. of Ireland, Estonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Czech Republic who are the other runners-up of the groups, have a right to join the play-offs which will bring EURO 2012 Finals ticket into 4 more teams. The play-offs draw will be held in Krakow, Poland on 13 October 2011 Thursday at 13.00 with Turkish local time.

Portugal, Croatia, the Republic of Ireland and the Czech Republic will be the seeded teams, while Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and first-time play-off entrants Estonia and Montenegro are the four unseeded teams in Thursday’s draw for the UEFA EURO 2012 play-offs in Krakow, Poland.
