Istanbul / NationalTurk – Turkish Marine Engineers announced via a press bulletin they will fight for the betterment of their and those of their fellow workers’ rights on shipyards and protest the unfair jailing of their fellow engineers pending trial after another fatal accident occurred at a shipyard in Turkey. Turkish TV channels and government are the primary targets.

Members of the Chamber of Turkish Marine Engineers stressed the unfair treatment their fellow engineers got following the latest fatal incident in a Istanbul shipyard. Naval engineers are made ‘ scapegoats ‘ here, the declaration says and ‘ our two friends who work shoulder to shoulder with fellow workers are being imprisoned pending trial unless proven otherwise, only for the sake of some Tv channels which can give 20 second clips of news regarding the sensitive case.’
