U19 Women’s fail to reach the final tournament

U19 Women National Team lost to Wales 1-0 in their last match of the 2010-2011 UEFA European Women’s U19 Championship Second Qualifying Round Group 3 which is held in Wales. The match was played in Richmond Park Stadium, Carmarthen, Wales and Josephine Green (Min.63) scored the only goal of the match from the hosts.

With this result, Turkey has failed to qualify to the finals of 2010-2011 UEFA European Women’s U19 by finishing the Second Qualifying Round Group 3 in 3rd place.

In the day’s other match of the group, Germany beat Iceland 3-0 and qualify to the finals by finishing the group in 1st place.

U19 Women National Team had beaten Iceland 3-1 and had been defeated by Germany 2-0 in their previous 2010-2011 UEFA European Women’s U19 Championship Second Qualifying Round Group 3 matches.

U19 Women’s have been reached the second qualifying round after finishing the first qualifying round group in 2nd place which includes Czech Republic, Northern Ireland and Romania.

In the second qualifying round, 24 teams are drawn into 6 groups . The 6 group winners and the runner-up with the best record against the first and third-placed teams in their section will join hosts Italy in the finals in Rimini from 30 May to 11 June 2011.
